Today was an all around crazy one. I felt like the mom from “Home Alone” when she felt she must have forgotten SOMETHING!
The end of the first week of school for my two still at home boys. I am still in shock they started high school and still VERY grateful to live in a state where cyber school is free. You will hear that many times this year. I am frazzled and I did not even have to PLAN any school what so ever. Still, there are schedules, volunteering, scouts, youth group, and field trips that have to coincide. Not to mention trying to fit live on-line lessons into each day.
I was SO thankful to have Mandy post here today. Wasn’t she a lovely guest. You MUST head over to her site and say hello on her regular posting days. I love reading what she has to say!
I looked at the clock and it said 5:09. I am DETERMINED to post FMF TWO weeks straight! I hurry over to Gypsy Mama and saw the prompt. Sigh…here goes nothing:
Graceful? I saw the prompt, looked at the clock and was so tempted to simply avoid this FMF. I am ANYTHING but graceful.
I stand 5’3″ on a good day and am what my grandmother would say “a big girl” :0). Since I was 14 I have been such and of course 4 babies add to the fluffyness of me. It is all in the genes…or should I say jeans! I have a body type exactly like my mother, grandmother, AND great-grandmother. I have seen the photos and yep…those are MY hips!
I was raised in a loud Brooklyn home. We would yell about everything! At the end of the day, we would still eat together and move on to the next loud day…so I don’t sound graceful either…in my mind.
I am too self conscious of that–according to my hubby anyaway! And he is most definately correct. But gracefulness can be many things…it does not HAVE to mean a Gwyneth Paltrow flowiness…or a Julia Roberts demure style.
What if we looked at graceful in a different light. What if we looked at it as Grace-full as in FUL of grace.
Full of focusing on Christ and allowing Him to be seen in our daily lives. Our words, actions, etc. do not have to be demure or flowy or quiet :00. I think of people like Joyce Myer, Barbara Johnson, as well as ladies I have been fortunate to know in real life whose personalities are loud and fun and loving and kind all at the same time. They are not what we might define as graceful, but they are Grace-Full in how they repres…..STOP
Okay, so that was not as hard as I thought it was going to be. This 5 minute limit stretches me. I am ANYTHING but short and to the point :0).
Here’s to a GREAT weekend!
Join Gypsy Mama on her fanTAStic site and try a Five-Minute Friday Fix:

Thanks I needed a does of grace-full grace. Amen.
Funny the things you think when you only have FIVE minutes :0). Thanks for stopping by! I did not get to do my FMF stop bys and so I will do so this evening! Hope you have a fantastic weekend.
love thinking about it that way. full of grace. Thanks for sharing. And I love how you stop exactly at 5 minutes…mid word. Made me smile
My first FMF broke all the rules…now I am trying to stick to ‘em but I will admit…I fixed 2 spelling errors on this one! Thanks for stopping by and saying hey :0). Have a great weekend!
What a great 5 minute write! I am so thankful God hasn’t called us to be graceful…He simply gives that as a gift. I still haven’t wrapped my head around that…
stopping by cuz I saw Mandy was here today and I realized I missed your write last week! ack!
All for Him with hugs to you,
Nikki
Glad you made it over for a visit :0). ANYtime! Mandy was a lovely guest!
