My One Word 2013: VISION

Well…here it is…2013!

Another year gone and a new one set before us.

Today is THE day most people set resolutions in place and hope to get through at LEAST the next week sticking to them.

How many of these are familiar to you?

I have personally stated 7 out of 10 them over the years! Some I have accomplished. Sadly, I am part of the twenty-something percent that let’s most of them fall to the wayside around week three.

That being said, I STILL make them because over the years I have seen improvement in certain areas and so THAT is what is important to me. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,  press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Phil 3:12-15

I LOVE how scripture encourages us on to set goals…and to NOT be weighed down if, for whatever reason, we have not “attained” all our goals. As we mature in Him, we are to think this way.

The past is over; all we can do is press on and pray for the diligence to proceed and accomplish what He sets before us now. <–click

With that in mind, I am pressing forward and sharing My One Word for 2013.

(The above button was created for me by Melanie of “Only a Breath…THANK YOU SO MUCH!)

Everyone needs a VISION for their life. Sometimes, we need more than one for different areas of our lives.

This year I am praying daily that God would give me a VISION for this next stage of my life. He was so faithful to me last year when My One Word was CONSISTENCY. I still have a long way to go on that one but He helped me become more consistent in several areas of my life.

So……what is your one word for 2013?

Next up: What are those resolutions anyway?
