“The Heat”- A Movie Worth Seeing With Chickie Girls

Published on July 11, 2013, by in City Chick.

“The Heat” was def a movie worth seeing with Chickie girls if you can gather some up. Really, the more the merrier {I think, anyway!}

This afternoon, my friend Kim and I headed off to see this new release starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy

Well, I guess maybe I do need to give a disclaimer…IF you are offended by that particular 4 letter word that can be, well, offensive, then this movie might not be for you. It’s not overly crude or used in the exact vulgar meaning….but it is used quite a few times.

I am not easily offended by it nor was I shocked when it came up because this is def an “R” rated movie! {Please refrain from sending me emails and messages as to why I *should* be, thanks}.
Truth is…the previews were REALLY {IMHO} awful and I was quite annoyed that they now allow that “word” to be used in a preview {who knows WHO will be sitting in the theater??? 0_0}. We all have the lines in the sand we won’t cross I guess.

What can I say? Growing up in Brooklyn kind of de-sensitized me.

If you can deal with it and want to laugh until you CRY, hitting the arms of whomever came with you to the theater in loud guffaws, practically making a scene that might even result in an usher coming to tell you to keep it down…then get thee to a theater…and quickly!

Sandra Bullock was at her best as the straight laced FBI agent bent on nabbing the bad guy in order to get a promotion. She is joined up with Melissa McCarthy who is of course, the exact opposite! Their timing is perfect :0).

This is no academy award winning movie, but it had a decent plot, incredible humor, unexpected moments, and a few {if awkward} warm/fuzzy moments!

I KNEW I recognized the male actor playing the chief, and in just a few seconds…I GOT IT!!!

It was BIFF from Back to the Future fame! He was pretty funny as well.

The bar scene was probably the funniest thing I have watched Sandra do since “Miss Congeniality”! {BTW, if you have not watched that movie, it is also a good one and does not have use the “bad” word once.

Are there any MUST see summer movies on your list? Maybe “Red 2″ , “Wolverine”, or “Smurf 2″ maybe??

So, this concludes is my day 11 post of the Ultimate Blog Challenge. THANKS for keeping me accountable and get comfy in daily blogging!

  2. I can’t wait to see this movie. I love Sandra Bullock – she is so underrated as a comedic actress. Melissa is amazingly talented. I would laugh at her reading the phone book.

      If not in the theater DEF worth a rental or Netflix :). UBC is bringing me so many great visitors and I am getting to so many great blogs. Thanks for the comment!

  4. Just saw this afternoon! Haven’t laughed that hard in a long time!

    BTW, thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. I must agree that CSA’s can be costly, but I do wish more people could benefit from the quality foods. We are seeing more and more community gardens in the area in which the work and harvest are shared.
